Almost everyone should have this information about computer.
What is computer? |
Generations of Computer__Early Computers__besic knowledge of computers.
Hi,
In today's era, computer has made its place somewhere in every tax work. Whether it is business work or some entertainment company. And or any other social work. Now other works like: - Computer production is also being used for film production, industry, trade, traffic control, research and space world. In today's time, there is hardly anyone who has not run a computer. We use computers but do you have any knowledge about computers? In today's article, we will give you information about computers which everyone should have.
●What is computer?
A computer is an automated and instructional electronic device that has the ability to take, store, or display data. By using it, information is carried out in mathematical, logical or manipulative processes according to the instructions of a program using data. Is shown in many desired forms. The word computer is derived from the word Compute in Latin, which means "to calculate". Thus, computer means a calculator or a calculator. In Hindi, computer means 'computer', but its name became computer famous. Earlier, the computer used to work as a calculating machine, but in today's time, the computer has developed so much that calculating is only a very small part of the many things that it does.
A computer is big or small, new or old, its structure is always the same. There are five main parts of a computer: -
1. Input Unit,
2. Output Unit,
3. Memory Unit,
4. Arithmetical and Logical unit and
5. Control Unit.
● Characteristics of Computer
■ Reliability
The computer does not get tired even after working for years and even after many years it provides data from its memory without any problems. The power to remember it is very high level, so all actions related to it or in it are reliable.
■ Accuracy
In this, information is received without any error through pure instructions and data. It has the precision to extract difficult questions without any errors.
■ Speed
The speed of a computer is so fast that it can simultaneously perform millions of mathematical operations in an instant. That is to say, data in a computer can be processed with high speed.
■ High storage capacity
Computers maintain a large store of memory information. It has the ability to store a lot of files and data.
■ Versatile
The computer is used in different areas to perform different tasks. Therefore it is also a multipurpose machine. Computer is used in medical, astronomy, research, sports, education, industrial, scientific, astrology, publishing and literature etc.
● Early Computers
All those calculating machines, which were made by the 1930s, were completely mechanical. After that in 1943, the invention of the computer named Mark I
Happened. To make it, IBM agreed Dr. Howard Aikins and Grace Hopper of Howard University.
The Mark I was an oversized machine. Talking about the length, it was 15 meters long and the length of the wires attached to it was 800 kilometers. It had thousands of electromagnetic relays and parts. It received and worked on programs.
It had such intensity that it could multiply two numbers of 20 digits in about 5 seconds. This was the first or early computer. But the biggest drawback was that it produced more heat as well as more heat. After that, it was sold in Europe's market with some improvements. A few days after Mark I, more computers were launched, which are considered to be elementary computers: -
• Atana sofe barry 1942
• ENIAC 1946
• EDSAC 1949
• EDVAC 1950
• LEO 1951
• UNIVAC-1st 1951
● computer generation
Over time, there were changes in technology, knowledge of new features and more progress. This change is called technological development. And on the basis of technological development, the history of computers was divided into several parts. These are called the generation or generations of computers. Six generations of computers are still in existence. So let's take a little look at the generations of computer: -
• first generation
》 Achievement = Vacuum tubes 《
The time of this generation was from 1946 to 1955. The electronic components available at that time were only vacuum tubes
Was only Which was used in computers. They used to move slowly and were much larger in size as well. They were also air conditioned because they used to generate a lot of heat. And there was inferiority of the operating system. And it was also more expensive.
• second generation
》 Achievement = Transistor 《
Shortly before the arrival of the second generation, Bell Labs in America discovered a component called transistor. Second generation of computers is considered from 1955 to 1965. Transistors were better than vacuum tubes, so transistors started to be used in computers of this generation, and the use of vacuum tubes stopped. Computers of this generation used to heat less. They used to run faster and the size was also less. The most popular and most produced computer of this generation was "IBM 1401. There were many more models of this generation such as: - I.B.M.1602, I.B.M.7094, IC.D.S. 3600, R.C.A. 501 etc.
Mostly these computers were used by scientists.
• third generation
》 Achievement = IC (integrated circuits) 《
The time of computers coming in this generation was from 1965 to 1975. In this generation of computers, i.c. Or the chip started being used. These computers were fast in speed, small in size and very reliable. In this generation along with computers, those who store data such as: - disk, tape etc. were also made. They put less pressure on the computer's main memory. And it was also due to these that running many programs on computers simultaneously. The main computers of this generation were ----- I.B.M.360, C.D.C.3000,6000 Series, univac9000 Series etc.
• fourth generation
》 Achievement = silicone chip 《
This generation of computers is also called a microcomputer. In this generation, the period of computers has been told from 1975 to 1990. Silicon chips were used in computers of this generation. All of the computers on a single silicon chip i.c. Is also called a microprocessor. Computers of this generation consume very little electricity and are so small in size that they can be placed on the reading table. Now small traders or shopkeepers also buy them because they are cheap. There are many companies making PCs like: - H.C.L., WIPRO, ZENITH, I.B.M. e.t.c. Currently, the computers in the Pentium series are running more.
• fifth generation
》 Achievement = Knowledge processing 《
This generation has been considered since 1990. Scientists say that in this generation such computers will come into existence which will be able to think, understand and apply logic like humans. By the way, some such computers have been manufactured which have much more capacity than the computers of the fourth generation. These are called supercomputers. A single supercomputer can work as many as hundreds of computers. Supercomputers have also been made in India, which are also being sent abroad. The indigenous computer of India is param and affection.
• Best or sixth generation
》 Objective = artificial intelligence 《
This generation started being used from 1995 onwards. Which is called artificial intelligence generation. Artificial intelligence is the program by which engineering was done to make intelligent machines. Computers of this generation can understand many languages (English, China, French etc.) very well.
These computers are required to have Voice recognition software, because with its help, the user automatically writes the voice spoken on the computer. It is mainly used in video games.
So this was information about computers that everyone should know, and after reading this article you will be able to answer questions related to the history of computers. We hope you have received some useful information from this article. You can also share this post. And if you have any question, you can send it by writing in the comment box.
